Mersenne Twister Design
The Mersenne Twister is derived from the generalized feedback shift register (GFSR) generator (Matsumoto & Nishimura, 1998). This algorithm has excellent statistical properties, including independence, uniformity and competitive equidistribution (Matsumoto & Nishimura, 1998). It also has a large period length of 219937 − 1. This algorithm generates uniform random numbers in the range of [0,1], and has been programmed in many software packages, including R-Project, which is of free distribution. The generation of the experimental design was carried out in R-Project using the package called ‘rngSetSeedas', where the initial seed was set to a value of 5.The idea of this method is to focus on repeatability. When the same seeds are selected, the resulting designs will be identical.
